Corvid Crisis
Emergency Triage for Adult Crows, Ravens, and Jays
The smartest bird on the block, grounded, with its whole family dive-bombing you. 10 modules on surviving the mob, crows vs. ravens, West Nile virus signs, the no-talking rule for birds that learn your voice, dissolving glue-trap adhesive with oil, why bread and salty snacks harm corvids, enrichment for a weekend hold, carriers a crow can't chew through, West Nile and sanitation safety, and the federal law that sends every corvid to a specialist.
About this course
A grounded crow is never alone: the flock is above you, loud, and willing to dive. This course gets you and the bird out of that situation safely. You'll learn to retrieve a corvid fast and quietly under a hat and glasses, to tell a crow from a raven (it changes the carrier you need), to recognize the tremors and head tilt of West Nile virus, and why you must not talk to a bird that can learn your voice in an afternoon. It covers the oil trick that dissolves glue-trap adhesive without tearing skin, what to offer for a weekend hold (soaked kibble and boiled egg, never bread or chips), the cardboard enrichment that stops a bored crow from plucking itself, why a shoebox lasts ten minutes against a jay's beak, and the simple hygiene that keeps you safe. It ends with the law: every native corvid is federally protected, and the only legal destination is a licensed rehabilitator or avian sanctuary.

- The no-talking rule, glue-trap rescue with oil, and safe foods for a weekend hold
- Enrichment that prevents self-plucking, and dark, chew-proof transport
- West Nile and sanitation basics, and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act hand-off
