From keeping bugs in critter keepers under my bed as a kid to navigating life with a vibrant, multi-species pack today, my entire world has been shaped by animals. Over the years, I've learned incredibly hard lessons. I've seen firsthand how easily things can go wrong when people simply lack the right information, and how quickly animals are surrendered, abandoned, or euthanized because they were misunderstood.
When my brother Thomas and I found a tiny kitten abandoned at the pet store where he worked, sick with an eye infection, we got her vet care and found her a loving home — today she is Maisie Mae. Not long after, my dog Ghost found a five-week-old pit bull puppy dumped in the woods near Dulles Airport; we named her Arya, got her shots, and found her a family who adores her. Every rescue like them reinforces a dream I have carried for years. There are countless animals out there just like them, who deserve a safe landing pad and a second chance.
The Vision
My ultimate goal is to purchase a dedicated property to build the Chaos to Calm Sanctuary. But this won't be a place where animals just sit waiting in cages.
Drawing on my years of behavioral experience, this property will be a specialized rescue and rehabilitation center. We will actively work with surrendered dogs, cats, birds, and exotics to safely socialize them, helping them overcome their fears and prey drives. By providing this behavioral foundation, we can adopt them out into multi-species homes with confidence and safety.
Education & Community
This sanctuary will also serve as a hands-on educational hub for the local community. We will offer specialized programs for kids and adults — especially those navigating difficult life circumstances — teaching them the beauty of animal husbandry, the science of positive reinforcement, and the profound empathy that comes from caring for a vulnerable creature.
