At Chaos to Calm Pets, my passion started as a child with my first pet budgie. When I got my first dog I realized inter-species friendships were possible and never looked back!

We are always looking for ways to improve and expand our services. Our goal is to become the go-to pet training/socializing provider in our area and beyond.

At Chaos to Calm Pets, we value compassion, integrity, and professionalism. We treat every pet with the love and respect they deserve, no matter how small or what their price tag is, every life is just as important as the next!
Meet Your Inter-Species Neutrality Specialist
Welcome! I am Paola Perrochon, a certified professional dog trainer specializing in a high-stakes behavioral niche that general dog trainers rarely touch: Inter-Species Harmony and Predatory Drive Management.
Many families love living in multi-pet households. However, introducing a high-energy or reactive dog to smaller, fragile family members—like cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, and rodents—can turn a peaceful living room into a high-stress hazard zone. Standard dog training classes focus entirely on dog-to-dog play and basic obedience. But when biological predator-prey dynamics are active in your home, standard obedience commands are not enough to keep everyone safe.
That is where my practice, Chaos to Calm Pets, comes in. I help families establish absolute neutrality and calm behavior between dogs and other household animals. Our philosophy does not force artificial, high-stress 'cuddling' or unsafe physical greetings. Instead, we train for mutual disinterest, giving smaller pets the freedom to roam and live without fear, while giving handlers the peaceful, barrier-free home they deserve.
My Professional Credentials
My methodology is built strictly on modern learning theory, canine behavior science, and rigorous safety-first mechanics. My background includes:

· Certified Daycare & Boarding Facility Operator: Specialized education in managing group arousal, environmental design, and stress management in high-arousal environments.
· Canine First Aid Certified (Dogsafe): Comprehensive training to prevent, recognize, and react to medical emergencies and acute injuries.
· Specialist in Multi-Species Threshold Mapping: Dedicated continuing education in predatory-drive management, environmental layout auditing, and remote coaching execution.
How Asynchronous Coaching Keeps Everyone Safe
Why Asynchronous Video Coaching? Introducing a reactive dog to a cat or small pet is a delicate, high-stakes process. Having a live trainer stand inside your home or conducting live sessions can over-stimulate your dog, heighten threshold anxiety, and frighten smaller animals. This distorts their natural behaviors, making live assessments both inaccurate and highly stressful.
Our specialized Asynchronous Video Coaching model completely eliminates this risk. You capture short, 2-to-3-minute video clips of your structured homework at times when your household is quiet and your animals are naturally relaxed. I review your footage using professional screen-recording tools—analyzing your dog's subtle body language, handler mechanics, and small-pet comfort levels frame-by-frame with a custom voiceover breakdown. This ensures training happens strictly at your animals' natural pace, keeping everyone 100% safe.
Website FAQ Section
Q: Will my reactive dog ever be able to roam free and snuggle with my smaller pet?
A: Our goal is peaceful, stress-free neutrality—not forced friendships or 'snuggling.' Because biological prey drives are incredibly strong, forcing physical closeness is biologically stressful for smaller pets and highly unsafe. Our success is measured when your dog can completely ignore your cat, bird, reptile, or rodent, allowing all household animals to share living spaces calmly with strict, dual-barrier safety protocols.
Q: What kinds of small pets do you train dogs to be neutral around?
A: We specialize in neutralizing dogs around cats, exotic birds (such as parrots or finches), pocket mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters), and securely housed reptiles or rodents.
Q: How does the video review process work technically?
A: It's incredibly simple! Each week, you'll record up to two 2-to-3-minute video clips of your homework on your phone (landscape orientation, clear lighting). You'll drag-and-drop the files into a private Google Drive, Dropbox, or Loom folder I set up for you. Within 48 business hours, you'll receive a private Loom video link where you can watch me play your footage, pause at critical moments, and talk you through exactly when to reward, move back, or adjust your leash mechanics.
